L’expression est connue : les opposés s’attirent. Cela se vérifie avec le duo de jazz formé par la batteuse Lada Obradovic et le pianiste David Tixier. La première est en effet incisive, à fleur de peau, groovy. Le deuxième est lui plus rond, technique, voluptueux. Pourtant aux antipodes l’un de l’autre, les deux musiciens arrivent à faire fusionner de manière très organique leurs deux sensibilités. A l’heure où nous écrivons ces lignes, la collaboration entre Lada Obradovic et David Tixier a déjà donné naissance à trois albums : Professor Seek and Mister Hide (2019), The Boiling Stories of a Smoking Kettle (2020), A Piece of Yesterday (2022). Obradović-Tixier Duo, ou la collaboration du pianiste français David Tixier et de la batteuse croate Lada Obradovic. Le duo produit un son contemporain, frais et élégant dans lequel se répondent instruments acoustiques et électroniques, moog, Fender Rhodes, glockenspiel, kalimba et joujoux divers. Un univers à la fois délicat et foisonnant qui séduit en juin dernier le jury du Tremplin Focal Jazz à Vienne. Les harmonies sophistiquées et intrigues textuelles de David s’entrelacent ici aux polyrythmies de lady Lada. Un phrasé de piano chamanique, quasi sériel, s’étourdit sur des nappes numériques tandis qu’une volée de cymbales, comme un bruissement d’ailes, nous emmène en voyage. JAZZ UP, le tremplin de jazz en Grand Est, est né de la volonté conjointe de Nancy Jazz Pulsations et de l’Auditorium de la MJC Desforges de proposer une réelle mise en lumière des artistes jazz du territoire et dynamiser plus encore une scène régionale regorgeante de talents. Avec l’envie de fédérer les acteurs du jazz en Grand Est, accompagnement, promotion et programmation seront proposés aux lauréats du JAZZ UP. Le "Obradovic - Tixier Duo" est un projet original qui naît de la collaboration du pianiste français David Tixier et de la batteuse croate Lada Obradovic. Un son nouveau forgé par la rencontre d'instruments acoustiques et de sons électroniques, de textes, de polyrythmes, d’intrigues et de loops mélangés aux différentes strates polyrythmiques entrelacées d’harmonies sophistiquées, sert de source première à la musique guidée par l’émotion et l’élégance. En 2018, le duo remporte le tremplin national de Jazz A Vienne (France) présidé par Giovanni Mirabassi.
